SPORTING CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE
Peter Symonds College offers one of the largest and most successful programmes of academic and practical sports in the country.
Students have the opportunity to study AS/A2 Sport and PE, BTEC National Diploma in Sport or to just take part in team sports or activities.
The department has excellent facilities that include a modern sports hall, fitness suite and three dedicated classrooms with IT facilities. It also has excellent playing fields and tennis courts, as well as the use of a local swimming pool and astro-turf pitch.

Both sets of results are significantly higher than National averages and put the college in the top 1% in the country.
Sports Participation
The college has over 977 students who participate weekly in a thriving activities programme. Over 100 courses operate and students are able to sign up for courses that interest them or allow them to gain a qualification.

Peter Symonds women’s tennis team have won their place amongst the top sixteen tennis teams in the country by beating Marlborough College in the AEGON Team Tennis Schools Area Finals.

One of the two youngest runners in this year’s London Marathon was Peter Symonds student Ed Hall , fundraising for Naomi House Children’s Hospice on his eighteenth birthday. He finished in the race with a time of 4hours 14minutes.
